Sue! This brought a tear to my eye, how lovely to connect with a reader like that. That will stay with them forever.
I LOVE Jeanette Winterstone. Why be happy when you can be normal was amazing! I remember watching the TV series of oranges are not the only fruit in the eighties secretly in the spare room! You reminded me to recommend it to my daughter who is gay. ๐๐ป
This reminds me of my years working as a career counselor and organizing career events for students. I loved to see individuality amongst the general herd of students (pardon the farming metaphor). And I know from experience the value of role models like you Sue in helping young people and adults be seen ๐๐
I think I used farming metaphors too as the students were herded into hall. There was individuality galore in the room, both from students and the creative businesses taking part.
This is it Sue. What a wonderful experience for you both. Thank you for the reminder of why it is important to write. And at a time when I needed it too. ๐ค
What a perfect illustration of โwhy we writeโ. Touch ONE person, just one โฆ wonderful, so impactful. And Iโm imagining youโve launched a writer into the world, one who will find the confidence to speak their truth, to find their words and, hopefully, to pass that on to another writer in need in years to come. Splendid, Sue. Brilliant.

Ah, thanks Kate, I'm so pleased this resonated with you. I love that images of you watching Oranges in the spare room. Here's to your daughter. Xx

Isn't that great ๐ We know that finding your niche can take a long time ๐
I often speak with students about the stress of thinking you have to have it all worked out so young. At 64, I'm still having career changes
Exactly. Cumulative life experience ๐ฅฐ
Love the impact you had here, have you watch The Teacher on channel 5, itโs a thriller drama but it reminded me of the person you met ๐งก
No, I haven't. Thanks for the recommendation, Juliet.

Thanks for your comment, Nick. Keep writing! You don't know who is waiting to read your words.

Thank you, dear Barrie - they put it all into perspective for me!
